If you’re interested in trying out Apple’s software updates ahead of release, the company’s public beta program is the best way to do that.
You can sign up for free at beta.apple.com to enroll your devices for pre-release updates.
The latest releases include tvOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, HomePod 26.2, and more major updates like iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 26.2.
Public beta 1 for these updates has just been released, available from the Software Update section on your devices.
As with all beta software, you may encounter more bugs and performance issues with a beta than you would by waiting for the forthcoming wide launch.
Today’s public betas follow developer beta 1’s debut earlier in the week, offering the same exact software builds that developers got.
While those developer betas brought plenty of changes for iOS and iPadOS, new features in tvOS and watchOS have been minimal so far.
As a result, it’s likely not worth signing up for beta releases just yet. But we’ll keep you posted on any additional changes we discover.
