Accessory maker Belkin has issued a product safety recall notice due to a fire hazard affecting three of its products. Here are the details.
According to the safety recall notice, the affected products are:
Belkin Auto-Tracking Stand Pro (MMA008)
Belkin BoostCharge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K (BPB002)
Playa USB-C PD Power Bank 20K (PB0003)
The company says that even if these products appear to function normally, users should “immediately stop using the product, disconnect it from any power supply or other products,” and contact them through this Recall Claim form.
Belkin also notes that these products should not be placed in any waste or recycling bins, and that customers will be offered “a choice of a full refund or store credit for the full amount plus 20% on Belkin.com.”
How to find out if your device is included in the recall
Here are Belkin’s official instructions to determine whether your devices are included in the recall:
Step 1: Locate your model number on the back or side of your Belkin device. If your model number is MMA008, BPB002 or PB0003, please continue to Step 2. If you do not have any of these products, you do not need to take any action, and can continue to enjoy using your Belkin product. Step 2: Find your serial number and/or proof of purchase.
