Apple Maps rolls out Look Around and Detailed City Experience features in Kansas City

Missourians and Kansans alike can now virtually navigate the metro area within Kansas City in richer detail, including Apple’s in-street viewing feature. Here are the details.

Look at Kansas City up close or from above

Today, Apple rolled out support for Detailed City Experience, as well as for Look Around, in Kansas City.

Detailed City Experience (DCE) is a feature that has been available to select cities since 2021, offering “unprecedented detail for elevation, neighborhoods, buildings, trees, and road features like crosswalks and turn lanes.”

Since its release, the Detailed City Experience feature has been rolled out in 33 cities and regions around the globe, and now Kansas City has joined the list, offering a more comprehensive and accurate view of the city.

Alongside DCE support, Apple Maps now offers the Look Around feature in Kansas City. This is Apple’s immersive street-level viewing experience, where users get a three-dimensional 360º view of any point in town.

From checking out landmarks to scoping out meeting spots, Look Around helps tourists and residents alike see exactly what a place looks like before heading out.

With DCE and Look Around, it is now much easier to plan sightseeing trips, or virtually soar above Kansas City’s most famous landmarks, including:
