The figure itself is a little more eye-opening, at $2,413,171 – but it’s still not enough to give Apple first place in the tech giant rankings …
OnDeck, a company helping small businesses find the best value loans for their companies, pulled together the numbers. It explains that RPE is a commonly used business metric to measure the efficiency of a company.
Revenue per employee (RPE) is a metric that businesses can use to measure the productivity and efficiency of their workforce. It is calculated simply by dividing overall revenue by the number of employees the company maintains. RPE is not a perfect metric, as it can overlook the cultural impact and other intangible benefits of strong business health. However, it is a positive way to measure the benefits of the workforce by focusing on value rather than costs.
Apple ranks third among the tech giants:
Nvidia: $4,408,784 Netflix: $4,153,125 Apple: $2,413,171
The key difference is that Apple has retail employees, which give it a larger workforce than companies without. The company has around 164,000 employees in total.
Unsurprisingly, the overall RPE winner across all industries is a property company, VICI.
VICI Properties is essentially a landlord of properties that it loans out to tenants, and most of these tenants are casinos and hotels in an extremely high-turnover environment. The casinos are responsible for their own fixtures, fittings and operations, keeping costs low for VICI. The lease lengths are long, allowing for an element of security and stability.
The company owns a significant proportion of the properties comprising the Las Vegas Strip.
