The sequel to one of Apple’s most-watched comedies is now available to Apple TV subscribers.
New movie is part of Apple’s holiday specials
Apple TV+ just premiered its first high-profile sequel, The Family Plan 2. The film reunites Mark Wahlberg (Boogie Nights, The Departed) and Michelle Monaghan (True Detective, Gone Baby Gone)as the Morgans head to London for the holidays, where they face off against Finn Clarke, played by Kit Harington (Game of Thrones, Eternals).
When it premiered in 2023, The Family Plan quickly became one of Apple TV’s most-watched comedies, despite receiving rather tepid reviews.
With The Family Plan 2, Apple is doubling down on its action-comedy slate, while also leaning into the holiday theme, introducing it as one of its many holiday specials.
Just last weekend, Apple made A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving available for free on Apple TV, and it plans to do the same with A Charlie Brown Christmas on December 13 and 14.
Here’s Apple’s synopsis of The Family Plan 2:
In ‘The Family Plan 2,’ it’s the holiday season and Dan (Mark Wahlberg) has planned the perfect vacation for his wife Jessica (Michelle Monaghan) and their kids to celebrate overseas — until a mysterious figure from his past (Kit Harington) shows up with unfinished business. An international game of cat-and-mouse ensues as Dan and his family battle, bicker and bond their way through a series of bank heists, holiday hijinks and car chases amid scenic European terrain.
