Apple is once again stepping up to help victims of a tragic event, this time in Hong Kong. Here are the details.

Apple to support Tai Po fire victims

Last Wednesday, a large housing complex in Hong Kong caught fire, resulting in at least 128 victims, with more than 200 people still missing.

This was the deadliest fire in Hong Kong in decades, and it appears to have been caused by flammable construction netting that had been used during renovation work around the building.

Following the tragedy, Apple CEO Tim Cook posted a support message on X earlier today and confirmed that Apple will donate to relief efforts:

Heartbroken by the devastating fire in Hong Kong. Everyone affected is in our thoughts and we are thankful for the first responders. Apple is donating to relief efforts on the ground. — Tim Cook (@tim_cook) November 28, 2025

Apple has a long record of supporting communities hit by disasters.

Just last month, Tim Cook said the company would donate to help those affected by Hurricane Melissa.

Apple also operates an internal program called Employee Giving, which encourages staff to support causes through donations and volunteer work. Through this initiative, Apple matches employee contributions and has raised more than $880 million to date.
