Alongside a new Mac version, the latest ExpressVPN update also features a welcome connectivity option on iOS. Here are the details.
Better on the Mac, faster on iOS
Following years of having a Mac app that was adapted from its iOS version, ExpressVPN has announced that it now has a native Mac app, built with the Catalyst framework:
Built with Apple’s Mac Catalyst framework, the app benefits from deeper system integration and macOS-specific optimizations. Visuals are smoother, window resizing and multitasking feel more responsive, and small refinements add up to a more polished experience. Whether you’re switching servers mid-task or running the app quietly in the background, the new version fits more naturally into the macOS environment.
In addition to that, ExpressVPN also updated its iOS app with the Fastest Location feature, which “lets you tap once to connect to the server that works best for your network at that moment”.
The feature was rolled out with a redesign of the app’s Home Screen, and it works by taking into account “speed, latency, and your distance” from their servers to determine the best option at that particular time.
