Rumors indicate Apple has a packed lineup of new Macs coming next year, and the latest leak indicates there could be a surprise reappearance of the iMac Pro with M5.

iMac Pro with M5 Max might be in the works at Apple

Leaked Apple code has revealed plenty of forthcoming hardware and software details over the past week. And the latest has been reported on by MacRumors.

A new high-end iMac model with M5 Max chip has been uncovered in “leaked kernel debug kit files used by Apple engineers.”

The current M4 iMac doesn’t offer any pro-level chip configurations such as an M4 Pro or M4 Max.

It is curious that the code only revealed an M5 Max model of iMac and not an M5 Pro version. Presumably, if Apple had plans to relaunch the iMac Pro, it would include both options.

However, there have been rumors off and on for years about Apple developing an iMac with a larger display aimed at professionals.

As recently as this February, Mark Gurman reported at Bloomberg that a larger iMac was still likely on Apple’s roadmap.

The code leak doesn’t reveal a specific size for the M5 Max iMac model. But if the product does come to fruition, something larger than the current 24-inch iMac seems a near-certainty.
