iOS 26.2 was released last month with a bunch of great features, and now it appears that a new iOS 26.2.1 update is coming soon for iPhone users.

Apple is testing iOS 26.2.1 internally for likely release soon

Following an extended holiday hiatus with no software updates, we’re expecting Apple to start shipping new releases again soon.

iOS 26.3, for example, is currently in beta testing and developer beta 2 is expected any day now.

But according to the 9to5Mac visitor logs, it appears there’s another update coming first.

iOS 26.2.1 is being used by several 9to5Mac visitors per our internal visitor logs. This indicates Apple is testing the software internally and will be releasing it to all users soon.

Last year, Apple shipped iOS 18.2.1 in early January too. Based on historic patterns, we could see iOS 26.2.1 launch as early as this week, or else perhaps next week at the latest.

Like most minor software updates, iOS 26.2.1 is not expected to include any brand new features. Rather, it will likely focus on bug fixes and performance improvements.

If Apple’s typical release timing is followed, we should then get iOS 26.3 around the end of January with a handful of feature changes—especially for users outside the US.
