Fun Apple ad touts the iPhone 17’s scratch-resistant cover glass

The Apple Canada YouTube channel has published a fun (and slightly unnerving) new ad promoting the new Ceramic Shield 2 cover glass of the iPhone 17 line. Watch it below.

’Relax, it’s iPhone 17’

In the ad, representatives from both sides of a legal dispute sit at opposite ends of a long wooden table, seemingly in the middle of settlement talks.

The lawyer for one of the sides states that her client has been “more than fair”, as she casually pushes an iPhone 17 Pro Max across the table, screen facing down.

The iPhone proceeds to slide for a good 15 seconds, accompanied by the unmistakable sound of glass scraping against slightly dusty wood.

When it finally reaches the other end (with a slightly comical extra screen-down nudge), the offer is promptly rejected, and the iPhone is unceremoniously slammed on the table before being sent gliding back the way it came.

In the ad, Apple states that the iPhone 17’s display is three times more scratch-resistant than the iPhone 16’s, without explicitly mentioning Ceramic Shield 2. That detail only appears in the video description.

You can check out the video below. Just make sure the sound is on, and keep an eye out for the hilarious extra nudge. It gets me every time.
