Yesterday’s widespread Verizon outage has officially been resolved, and the company has announced details for a $20 credit that will be given to those affected. Here’s how to get it.
Affected Verizon customers will get text soon to redeem credit inside app
Today Verizon posted the following on X:
To help provide some relief to those affected, we will give you a $20 account credit that can be easily redeemed by logging into the myVerizon app. You will receive a text message when the credit is available. On average, this covers multiple days of service. Business customers will be contacted directly about their credits.
To summarize, the process for getting and applying your $20 credit includes:
Wait for the text message Verizon will send After getting the text, open the myVerizon app Follow the redemption instructions in the app
The major outage yesterday lasted about 10 full hours, starting around 12 p.m. Eastern and officially being resolved some time after 10 p.m., making for essentially an entire day of issues for Verizon users.
It would be nice if Verizon automatically applied the $20 credit for users rather than requiring user action. But it does sound like a simple and straightforward process.
Verizon hasn’t said exactly how soon users can expect to receive the text that the credit is ready. Hopefully it will be a short wait.
Have you received a text from Verizon yet about the $20 credit? Let us know in the comments.
