Barcelona's quest for another piece of silverware faces a potential banana skin on Thursday as they take on a Racing Santander team riding high at the summit of the Spanish second tier.
Currently at the top of La Liga, the Blaugrana claimed their first trophy of the season on Sunday, with a 3-2 victory over Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final in Jeddah, and will be keen to move a step closer to another cup triumph with a win today.
They take on a Santander team leading the pack at the top of the Segunda División, and look well placed for a return to La Liga; however, José Alberto's men come into this cup fixture amid a recent dip in form following three consecutive draws.
Racing Santander takes on Barcelona at the Estadio El Sardinero on Thursday, Jan. 15. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. CET local time, making it a 3 p.m. ET and 12 p.m. PT start in the US, an 8 p.m. GMT start in the UK and a 7 a.m. AEDT kickoff in Australia on Friday morning.
