A few months back, I reviewed Kuxiu’s X40 Turbo. It was one of the first chargers to bring us the new Qi2.2 25W charging speeds. It came in an awesome cosmic orange color to match the new iPhone 17 Pro, was super compact, and also charged my Apple Watch and AirPods. That charger became a mainstay in my travel pack. But now Kuxiu has introduced its new X55 Turbo charger, a more budget-focused option that delivers nearly the same core experience at a more competitive price point. The biggest change comes down to the design and materials, but performance stays the same, which is the most important aspect. Here is what you should know.

The biggest thing to note here is that this charger focuses on bringing the fastest Qi2.2 charging speeds without breaking the bank. It still follows the same folding 3-in-1 design language that the X40 Turbo has, but, with even more functionality and use case scenarios. The biggest cost difference you will see between the X40 Turbo and the X55 Turbo is that the X55 is made of plastic, while the X40 is made of aluminum. Here are the key specs:

Supports Qi2.2 25W fast charging Supported by iPhone 16 and newer running iOS 26 Older iPhones will charge at 15W

3 in 1 charger that charges iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods

Max output of 35W – 25W for phone, 5W for Airpods, 5W for Apple Watch

Included in packaging: X55 Turbo Hardshell storage pouch 45W charging brick USB-C cable

A few things really stand out here. The first is the fact that this still includes the charging brick needed to get the maximum charging output. This is rarer and rarer these days. The second standout is that even though this is a budget-friendly product, you still get the max charging speeds of 25W. There is also a charging mode that the X55 Turbo has that even the X40 does not have. Let me explain.

My experience

If you have used the old X55 charger or even the X40 Turbo, then this will feel very familiar. The first aspect I like calling out about Kuxiu products is that you get everything you need to use them. There are chargers that are 3X the price and don’t even include the charging brick in the box, so the fact that this one comes with a 45W GaN charger is amazing. The biggest physical difference is in the build materials. The X55 Turbo is made of this soft-touch, almost rubber-feeling, plastic. What is nice is that it still feels premium. It feels like the bottom of the iPad Pro’s Magic Keyboard, which does make it feel like a more expensive product. It also has some nice weight to it, which helps when you use this charger in stand mode.
