Why This Matters

The release of 'Imperfect Women' on Apple TV highlights Apple's ongoing investment in original, high-quality content to attract and retain subscribers in a competitive streaming market. This psychological thriller, featuring a star-studded cast and based on a popular novel, underscores the industry's focus on compelling storytelling to boost platform engagement and differentiate from competitors.

Key Takeaways

Apple just released the first two episodes of its new psychological thriller starring Kerry Washington (Ray), Elisabeth Moss (The Invisible Man), and Kate Mara (The Astronaut). Here’s what to expect from the limited series.

New episodes set to drop every Wednesday

For the past few weeks, Apple has been promoting Imperfect Women with events including a Today at Apple session at Apple The Grove, and a world premiere gala at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, both in Los Angeles.

The show, which also stars Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris), Leslie Odom Jr. (Hamilton), Sheryl Lee Ralph (Abbott Elementary), and Joel Kinnaman (For All Mankind), among others, will run through April 29, with episodes dropping every Wednesday.

According to Apple, here’s what to expect from Imperfect Women:

Based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, “Imperfect Women” examines a crime that shatters the lives of three women in a decades-long friendship. The unconventional thriller explores guilt and retribution, love and betrayal, and the compromises we make that irrevocably alter our lives. As the investigation unravels, so does the truth about how even the closest friendships may not be what they seem.
