Apple announces new immersive concert experience for Apple Vision Pro

A new “Apple Immersive concert experience” is coming to Apple Vision Pro users. On Friday, Apple will release “Metallica,” featuring 180-degree Immersive Video footage shot in Mexico City as part of Metallica’s M72 World Tour. The concert film will feature full performances of three Metallica songs: “Whiplash,” “One,” and “Enter Sandman.” Apple says Vision Pro users should expect “unprecedented access to James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Robert Trujillo — from vantage points as close up as the famed Snake Pit, to wide-angle views of the band’s energetic performance in the round.” To record the Metallica concert, Apple says it built a “custom stage layout featuring 14 Apple Immersive Video cameras” with a mix of stabilized cameras, cable-suspended cameras, and remote-controlled camera dolly systems that moved around the stage. “Metallica” will be available for free for Apple Vision Pro users on Friday, March 14 in the TV app. Apple also touts other new Immersive Video co ...
