GoKawiilApple has started notifying developers of their selection status in the WWDC attendance lottery. Apple announced its Worldwide Developers Conference on March 23, giving developers one week to express interest in attending in-person.
Apple will announce iOS 27 at WWDC in June
WWDC 2026 kicks off on Monday, June 8, and runs through Friday, June 5. Apple will announce iOS 27, macOS 27, and the rest of the OS 27 releases during the keynote address.
Following the announcement, Apple will host developers for a week of sessions that detail the latest technologies, including new AI tools, for developing more capable apps.
For developers, attending WWDC is a unique opportunity to interface with Apple engineers in-person. For this reason, demand for attendance created the need to implement a lottery system about a decade ago.
Rather than selling out almost instantly, Apple provides a week for developers to express interest in attending. Those who are randomly selected are then able to continue with a ticket purchase. If they decline, the lottery system continues, giving some who missed the opportunity to have a second chance at attending.
