Why This Matters

The introduction of the MagSafe-compatible Xteink e-readers offers a convenient, portable reading solution integrated with iPhones, potentially reducing the need for separate devices. This innovation highlights the ongoing trend of multifunctional accessories that enhance user convenience and device integration in the tech industry. For consumers, it provides an affordable and sleek way to enjoy E Ink reading without carrying extra gadgets.

Key Takeaways

If you like to read on the go, but prefer an E Ink display rather than using your iPhone, then a company called Xteink might have the solution you’ve been wanting: a slim, MagSafe-compatible e-reader called the X4.

E-reader attaches to iPhone 17 Pro Max using MagSafe for convenient portability, with more iPhones supported soon

I love to read, but have never owned a standalone e-reader because I don’t want to carry an extra device with me all the time. So most of the time I just read on my iPhone.

If you’re in the same boat, a company called Xteink seems to have found the solution.

Their recently launched X4 e-reader with E Ink can attach via MagSafe to an iPhone 17 Pro Max or similarly sized phone.

It’s 5.9mm thin, so it doesn’t add too much bulk to your iPhone. And since it can stay magnetically attached, it feels more like a part of your iPhone rather than being a whole second device to keep up with.

You can buy the X4 on Amazon for just $69.

And if your iPhone isn’t a Pro Max model, there’s another option coming soon for you.

As posted today by Quinn Nelson, an X3 model is about to launch that’s even smaller, expanding compatibility to models like iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone Air.
