CarPlay momentum continues
A few days ago, WABetaInfo noticed that WhatsApp had started to test an improved CarPlay experience.
For years, WhatsApp’s CarPlay integration was limited to a basic voice interface that let users compose messages or place calls.
With the update, which was promoted as an App Store event, WhatsApp’s CarPlay experience now feels much more native to Apple’s in-car platform, including:
A new contact info interface that lets users view profile details for each contact;

Today’s update builds on a wave of recent CarPlay improvements, with ChatGPT and Google Meet also adding more native experiences.
ChatGPT recently updated its app to leverage the new support for conversational voice apps that Apple released with CarPlay in iOS 26.4. At the same time, Google Meet added features such as the ability to join meetings, view upcoming events, and more.
