Why This Matters

This article highlights the hidden gems available on Apple TV, emphasizing its unique organic discovery approach that fosters a more authentic viewer experience. For consumers and the industry, it underscores the importance of diverse, high-quality content that may not always receive mainstream marketing but offers significant entertainment value.

Key Takeaways

Apple TV has come a long way since it dropped over half a decade ago. Since then, the streamer has made waves with hit shows including Severance, Ted Lasso and The Morning Show. I'm here to tell you that Apple has more excellent programs for you to binge. Much more.

The problem is, you've probably never heard of them.

You see, Apple has a unique marketing strategy: It relies on word of mouth and an organic discovery model that determines whether its titles sink or swim. It's an interesting way of putting movies and TV shows out into the world -- and it has made Apple TV feel way more like a secret club you've been let into.

Some other programs well worth your time include Seth Rogen's Emmy-winning comedy The Studio and Vince Gilligan's sci-fi drama Pluribus. Did you know Schitt's Creek star Eugene Levy hosts his own Emmy-nominated travel show? What about Jason Momoa's groundbreaking Polynesian-led drama about the unification of the Hawaiian Islands? These are just a few examples of the titles I've put in the roundup below.

I'll be updating this list regularly, so please check back for additions. I've compiled a separate guide of Apple TV's best sci-fi TV shows. So check that out when you're done here.

The series, now the most-watched Apple TV show ever, follows a relatively unhappy woman named Carol (Rhea Seehorn) as she navigates this unsettling new reality. Can she find a way to save the world? Or will she eventually become a part of this odd hive mind?

Apple TV Masters of the Air Apple's military drama is based on real events and takes inspiration from Donald L. Miller's book of the same name. The series follows the members of the 100th Bomb Group (aka the Bloody Hundredth) as they battle the Nazis during World War II. It has a stacked cast, including the likes of Austin Butler, Callum Turner, Anthony Boyle and Barry Keoghan. Masters of the Air was produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks.

Apple TV Down Cemetery Road This conspiracy thriller, inspired by Mick Herron's first novel in his Zoë Boehm series, begins when a child goes missing after a house fire. A concerned neighbor (played by Ruth Wilson) forms an unlikely partnership with Zoë (the books' titular private investigator, played by Emma Thompson) to look for the kid. In the process, a conspiracy is uncovered, leading the duo down an unexpectedly dark path.
