GoKawiilReese Witherspoon made Elle Woods a pop-culture icon with her signature pink fashions and catchphrase, "What, like it's hard?" in Legally Blonde. Twenty-five years after the first movie arrived, Amazon and Witherspoon's production house Hello Sunshine are teaming up to debut Elle on Prime Video.
Season 1 of the prequel series will arrive on July 1, and the streamer just released a new, pink-filled teaser trailer.
Lexi Minetree stars as Elle Woods, with June Diane Raphael playing her mother, Eva, and Tom Everett Scott as Wyatt, her dad. The show will follow Elle as a high schooler in 1995, "where she encounters tricky friendships, forbidden romance and questionable fashion choices," according to the show's synopsis. Leaning on her family to help ground and guide her, she'll eventually grow into the character fans first met in the early 2000s.
Elle has already been renewed for a second season, but Prime Video will release all eight episodes of season 1 on July 1.
