Here’s the latest on Apple’s foldable iPhone Ultra model, per leaks
Over the weekend, several posts from Weibo leaker Instant Digital provide insights into Apple’s current progress with the forthcoming iPhone Ultra.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone is reportedly in trial production now. And that has come with both good news and bad news for the company.
Per this post, Apple’s goal of a crease-free display for the iPhone Ultra has been achieved, a key breakthrough. Per the translated post: “current test results do show that it has achieved a visually crease-free state with ‘long-term stability.’”

However, the iPhone Ultra’s hinge is apparently struggling to hit Apple’s quality standards.
Per the post: “its reliability after prolonged, high-frequency opening and closing consistently falls short of Apple’s quality control standards.”
The leaker says this issue is causing an indefinite delay to the production process. A later post affirms that production has been hindered as a result.
What does this mean for iPhone Ultra’s release timing? Fortunately, in a follow-up the leaker reiterates his belief that the new model is still very much on track for a September debut.
