Apple TV just announced a new thriller series, Last Seen, that centers on a police detective-turned-dispatcher who gets a call from his daughter who went missing 11 years before. Here are the details and release date.
Last Seen is a new thriller series based on novel ‘The Dispatcher’
Apple TV has ramped up its slate of thriller series in recent years, and the streamer just announced another addition coming this fall.
Last Seen premieres on Wednesday, September 9 with two episodes, followed by weekly releases through October 7.
The show is an Australian thriller starring Patrick Brammall (“Colin from Accounts,” “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Evil”). It’s adapted from the novel The Dispatcher by Ryan David Jahn.
Here’s Apple’s official plot summary:
Police detective Ian Ridley’s (Patrick Brammall) life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.
Joining Brammall in the Last Seen cast are Maxine Peake (“Say Nothing,” “Black Mirror”), Brendan Cowell (“Dune: Prophecy,” “Plum”), Daniel Henshall (“Mickey 17,” “How to Make Gravy”), Jessica Wren (“Mr Inbetween,” “Devil’s Playground”), Zahra Newman (“Thirteen Lives,” “Addition”) and Chloe Jean Lourdes.
Thriller fans should also check out Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, which just premiered last week on Apple TV with its first episodes. And Apple’s next high-profile thriller, Cape Fear, is coming in early June.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, or you can get it discounted through the Apple One bundle.
