Why This Matters

Hisense's new UR8 RGB Mini-LED TV brings advanced color accuracy and vibrant visuals to a broader consumer market, making high-end display technology more accessible. Its innovative use of RGB backlighting and collaboration with audio experts like Devialet highlight a focus on immersive viewing experiences, signaling a competitive shift in premium TV offerings for 2026.

Key Takeaways

Hisense has unveiled the immediate availability of its latest RGB Mini-LED, the UR8, which promises better color than ever, with prices starting at $1,300.

The UR8 is one of two new RGB mini-LED TVs that Hisense revealed at CES 2026, while the UR9 was released earlier this year. The UR8 offers screen sizes ranging from 55 to 100 inches.

Hisense says the ranges bring "dramatically expanded color range with richer saturation and more accurate tonal reproduction." The company says the new TVs are able to "preserve color integrity in bright rooms" when watching movies or playing games.

RGB backlights use clusters of red, green and blue LEDs to produce color and need fewer color filters than other TVs.

The TVs' onboard audio was tuned by French audio brand Devialet, whose distinctive Phantom speakers I loved many years ago.

Hisense's first RGB mini-LED, the 116-inch 116UX, debuted last year for $30,000, and the company says the new range is designed to bring this tech to a wider audience. Meanwhile, the Hisense U8QG this range replaces was one of my favorite mini-LED TVs of 2025.

In 2026, there are a number of RGB backlit TVs expected from Samsung, LG and more, and I look forward to testing see how Hisense's version competes. The pricing of the UR8 is as follows:
