Why This Matters

The upcoming iOS 27 update will significantly enhance Apple Wallet by enabling users to create digital passes from physical ones and simplifying bill splitting among friends. These features improve convenience and expand the utility of Apple Wallet, making it more integral to daily financial and organizational tasks for consumers and the tech industry alike.

According to Bloomberg, the Apple Wallet app in iOS 27 will have three template options. “Standard” will be the default and create orange passes, “membership” will be blue and focused on things like gyms, and “events” will be green. You’ll be able to edit styles, images, names, and more to make sure each pass you create is easy to identify.
