Why This Matters

Hulu's diverse lineup of premieres in July highlights its strategic focus on original content, sports, and international series, reinforcing its position as a versatile streaming platform for a broad audience. These new releases not only attract viewers with varied interests but also demonstrate Hulu's commitment to expanding its content ecosystem, impacting both consumer choices and industry competition.

Key Takeaways

Hulu's popularity could be attributed to its vast collection of great older TV shows and movies, and some top-notch original shows, including Only Murders in the Building, Paradise and The Handmaid's Tale. The platform's collaboration with FX has also produced some of the platform's most prestigious and popular shows, including The Bear, Reservation Dogs and Shogun.

Hulu's got one of the most diverse programming slates this month, featuring sports, music, docuseries and sitcoms. You can catch the streaming premiere of the annual ESPY Awards on July 16 on the platform to watch some of the biggest sports stars of the year get their flowers, or watch the new boxing drama They Fight, starring Andre Holland and Wendell Pierce, which is based on the true story of boxing coach Walt Manigan. The Devil Wears Prada 2 will hit on July 29, the same day it lands on Disney Plus.

The new crime series Furious, starring Emmy Rossum, arrives this month, as does a special episode of the hit FX comedy Adults. And on the heels of last month's Bonnaroo livestream, you can watch every day of Lollapalooza live from Grant Park in Chicago on the streamer.

Here's a look at when you can watch these titles and more of Hulu's new releases this July.

The four-episode series seeks to uncover the truth about what really happened all those years ago. Abandoned was released earlier this year in Spain and arrives on Hulu in the US on July 1.
