Public beta 2 for iPadOS 27 and more arrives with these new features

Apple has just released public beta 2 for its forthcoming fall software updates, including iPadOS 27 and more. Here’s what’s new.

Earlier this week Apple shipped developer beta 4 for iOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, iPadOS 27, and more. Now today, those same software builds have debuted for public beta testers too.

Public beta 2 is rolling out now for iPadOS 27, tvOS 27, HomePod 27, and more.

You can enroll in Apple’s public beta program at beta.apple.com. It’s free to sign up, and grants access to pre-release builds of this fall’s major new software updates.

After enrolling per the instructions on Apple’s beta website, you’ll be able to install the new software via the Software Update section inside Settings on your devices.

Today’s latest round of betas includes a variety of new changes compared to public beta 1. These include:

Apple TV app gains a new ‘Automatic Downloads’ option so you always have the latest episodes of your favorite shows available offline

Siri app lets you customize how many lines of preview text are displayed for each previous chat

Control Center now lets you personalize Adaptive mode for AirPods to your liking

Photos adds a ‘Zoom Photos to Fill’ setting
