In addition to macOS 26.6, Apple is also rolling out macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 with important bug fixes. Here are the details.
macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 officially released at last
Following the rollout of no less than seven Release Candidates, Apple has now finally released macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 officially.
The release builds are the same as last week’s release candidates:
macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 (23J620)
macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 (24G824)
Apple’s release notes mention only that these two updates provide ”important security fixes,” adding that they are recommended for all users who are still running macOS Sonoma and macOS Sequoia.
In recent weeks, Apple has rolled out several security fixes to older system versions, many of which fixed WebKit vulnerabilities that put user data at risk. For this reason, if you are still running either macOS Sonoma, or macOS Sequoia, it might be a good idea to install these updates sooner rather than later.
Update: Apple has now released the full security content for macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, detailing more than 138 distinct vulnerabilities across both systems.
Are you still using macOS Sonoma or macOS Sequoia? Let us know in the comments.
