iPhone driver’s license looks set to roll out to a 15th US state

The ability to add a digital version of your driver’s license to your iPhone looks like it will be rolling out to a 15th US state before too long.

Apple currently lists 14 states where the capability is supported, alongside the territory of Puerto Rico, and backend assets now indicate another one will soon be added …

Many of us have long wished there was no need to carry physical identity documents like driver’s licenses and passports, and we could instead simply present digital ID on an iPhone or Apple Watch.

That future is likely still a long way off, but Apple made a start back in 2021 when the company announced plans to allow iPhone users to add a driver’s license or state ID to the Wallet app. So far, 14 states have taken advantage of this capability:

Georgia
