GoKawiilmacOS 27, also known as Golden Gate, is coming this fall with a variety of improvements for the Mac. Here are five new macOS Golden Gate features I’ve been loving so far.
#1: File name suggestions
Apple Intelligence powers a convenient new file management feature in macOS 27: file and folder name suggestions.
When saving a file, your Mac can now suggest a name based on the contents of the file. This is possible because Apple Intelligence is able to analyze and understand its contents.
Suggestions also work for folder names, so you can have auto-suggested names based on the files inside a folder too.
#2: Swipe to refresh
The first Mac with a touchscreen is coming this fall, but even without a MacBook Ultra, I’ve been enjoying the new support for ‘swipe to refresh’ in macOS 27.
Like in iOS and iPadOS, you can now swipe down in apps like Safari and Mail to force an app refresh.
Maybe it’s just because I work from my iPad Pro a lot, but swipe to refresh is a key gesture I use all the time, so it’s been great to have it added to the Mac.
