Apple CEO Tim Cook opened a new manufacturing facility in Houston yesterday that will produce Mac Minis and offer free training and classes. Cook was joined by a cadre of government officials, most notably Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick. Cook said the iPhone maker had spent hundreds of millions of dollars on the space. Lutnick said that Apple could "lead the charge for advanced manufacturing coming to America." As CNBC's Kif Leswing and MacKenzie Sigalos note, the ribbon-cutting comes near the end of Cook's tenure as CEO. Yesterday's event could be a taste of what Cook's future might look like, as he's slated to continue corresponding with policymakers on behalf of the company.
