TL;DR After the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s design leak yesterday, the base Galaxy S27 has leaked.
The phone appears to retain the same design and dimensions as the previous generation.
We see the Galaxy S27 in a purple shade, similar to one of the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s colors.
The Galaxy S27 series is months away from launch, but a sequence of leaks this week alone has shaped (or shifted, in some cases) our opinion of it. Just yesterday, we saw CAD renders of the Galaxy S27 Ultra, suggesting its shift to a new design after several generations, with an iPhone 17 Pro-esque camera island. Today, the lesser premium member of the family is being brandished the same way.
Just like yesterday, Android Headline and leaker OnLeaks bring us supposed visuals of the base Galaxy S27. The phone appears in light purple, seemingly similar to one of the Galaxy Z Fold 8’s official colors. The report, however, notes this may not be one of the phone’s final colors.
Unlike its more premium sibling, which is believed to be radically redesigned, the Galaxy S27 renders point only to minor changes.
The Galaxy S26 retains the same 6.3-inch display and similar dimensions as the previous generation. The phone reportedly measures roughly 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25 mm, which isn’t too far off from the Galaxy S26’s measurements at 149.6 x 71.7 x 7.2mm. It’s interesting to witness the Galaxy S27 gain a fraction of a millimeter in thickness. If it were the opposite, Samsung would have taken a moment to highlight it, as it did with the Fold 8 Ultra.
Last year’s switch to a raised camera island could reportedly return next year. Despite looking similar, the sensor under the primary shooter could switch to one sourced from Sony, according to previous leaks. We can’t say whether that would be an upgrade, but the 50MP Sony sensor is rumored to appear on both the Galaxy S27 and Plus models.
Other than the three standard models, Samsung is also expected to add a Pro variant this year. While the Galaxy S27 Pro could be as compact as the base S27, it could match the Ultra in specifications, basically mirroring Apple’s iPhone Pro products.
