A new era of Apple Intelligence is at the heart of the forthcoming iOS 27 and companion software updates. One powerful new AI feature involves the Apple Passwords app.
Passwords launched two years ago as a dedicated hub for logins, 2FA codes, Wi-Fi credentials, passkeys, and more.
The app has always shown you if passwords in your database are problematic in some way. For example, if your password has been spotted in a data leak, or is used across multiple accounts, the Passwords app notifies you of that.
But until now, you’ve always needed to manually fix those problematic logins.
In iOS 27 though, Apple says that in many cases, its new agentic AI feature can change the passwords for you. Per its website:
Fix passwords with a tap. The Passwords app alerts you to weak or compromised passwords and can update them on your behalf without the hassle.
Thanks to this feature, you can always ensure that your logins are secure and use strong passwords, but with minimal hassle or time spent on your part.
iOS 27 is currently in beta, and will launch to all users in the next few weeks. The new Passwords feature is expected to ship in iOS 27.0, but its availability in the beta has been inconsistent, so it might get pushed into iOS 27.1.
