GoKawiilMinisforum unveils N5 NAS and MS-S1 workstation with AMD's new Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 chip
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Minisforum revealed upgraded versions of its flagship NAS and mini-workstation, the AI Agent NAS N5 Max-P495 and MS-S1 Max-P495, both powered by AMD's Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 processor paired with a Radeon 8065S GPU. The chip delivers up to 131 TOPS of AI performance and supports up to 192GB of unified memory, with the NAS also offering up to 200TB of local storage for running AI agents like OpenClaw or Hermes directly on-device.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
Running AI agents locally on storage-heavy hardware addresses two growing concerns: data privacy and ballooning inference costs, since agentic AI workloads can consume vastly more tokens than standard AI use. By combining high-capacity storage with strong on-device AI compute, Minisforum is targeting businesses and creators who want to avoid cloud dependency while still running demanding, long-running AI workflows.
- Both devices use AMD's new Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 chip with up to 131 TOPS of AI performance.
- The N5 NAS supports up to 200TB storage and runs AI agents like OpenClaw locally to protect data privacy and reduce latency.
- The MS-S1 workstation is rack-scalable, with four units fitting in a 2U rack for compute-heavy AI deployments.
Seagate IronWolf Pro 20TB NAS Hard Drive — If Minisforum's AI Agent NAS has you dreaming of a 200TB local AI vault, you'll need NAS-grade drives to fill it. The IronWolf Pro line is built specifically for always-on multi-bay enclosures, which is exactly the kind of duty a machine running local agents and models around the clock demands.
