GoKawiilAMD unveils Threadripper Halo Station workstation with up to 576GB GPU memory
At IFA 2026, AMD introduced the Threadripper Halo Station, a liquid-cooled workstation combining a 96-core Threadripper PRO 9995WX processor with up to four Instinct MI350P accelerators. A fully configured system would offer 576GB of HBM3E memory, enough to run trillion-parameter AI models locally without cloud access. AMD showed a two-card version at the event but has not disclosed pricing, availability, or full specifications.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
This positions AMD in the emerging market for local, workstation-scale AI hardware that lets organizations run massive models without relying on cloud infrastructure, addressing concerns about data control, latency, and cost. The high memory bandwidth and capacity requirements highlight how large language models are pushing hardware makers toward specialized, power-hungry systems rather than general-purpose machines.
- AMD's Halo Station pairs a 96-core Threadripper PRO 9995WX CPU with up to four MI350P GPUs for a total of 576GB HBM3E memory.
- The system targets developers who want to run trillion-parameter AI models locally instead of via cloud services.
- AMD has not announced pricing, release date, or full specifications including cooling, storage, and sales channels.
AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX Processor — If AMD's Halo Station has you dreaming of running big models locally, the Threadripper PRO line is the CPU family at the heart of that vision. With massive core counts and huge memory and PCIe lane capacity, it's built for workstation builders who want serious multi-GPU and rendering headroom on their own desk.
