Planning to scoop up a new iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 18 Pro Max? Hope you have an extra $100 in your pocket. Apple confirmed at Wednesday’s live Surprise and Shine event that the two phones will cost $100 more than the previous versions. The iPhone 18 Pro will start at $1,199 and the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin at $1,299. Both of those prices include 256GB of storage.
Both phones will be available for preorder this Saturday, Sept. 12, and will launch on Sept. 18.
The price increase was expected, and was actually lower than some observers predicted. The $100 price hike matches Samsung’s cost hikes for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, and Google’s hikes with the Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro.
Andrew Lanxon, CNET editor-at-large, notes that the new phones are packed with Apple’s latest tech, including upgraded cameras, new A20 Bionic processors, and fresh colors, including a much-buzzed-about dark cherry, labeled burgundy.
