GoKawiilFederico Viticci's MacStories review praises iOS 27's attention to detail
MacStories' Federico Viticci published his annual in-depth iOS review, this time covering iOS 27, saying the update is less flashy than last year's but still shows Apple 'sweating the details.' He gave particular attention to Siri AI, describing it as a smarter, more capable assistant that excels at quick, one-off tasks rather than agentic, multi-step work.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
Viticci's review carries weight among developers and power users who treat it as an annual barometer of Apple's software direction. His take suggests Apple is deliberately positioning Siri AI as a refined assistant rather than rushing to compete with agentic AI products like ChatGPT or Claude, which tempers expectations for how quickly Apple will catch up in the AI assistant race.
- iOS 27 prioritizes refinement over flashy new features, per Viticci's review
- Siri AI is described as smarter but not agentic, unlike ChatGPT or Claude-based tools
- Viticci still relies on third-party apps like ChatGPT for deeper, multi-step tasks
