GoKawiilApple launched its major iOS 27 release today for iPhone. But for anyone not yet ready to install the new software version, Apple has also released a smaller iOS 26.7 update. Here’s what’s new.
It’s a big day for Apple software releases. The company just debuted iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS 27, and a lot more.
But if you’re not ready to install the latest software yet, Apple has another option for you.
iOS 26.7 is now available for iPhone, a minor update for anyone not yet ready to install iOS 27.
The new release includes “security fixes for your iPhone” per Apple’s official release notes.
It’s become common practice for Apple to ship smaller updates to its current OS version on the same day as major new releases debut.
The company typically presents iPhone users with two options. They can install the major new release, or stay on the current version and get additional security updates and bug fixes.
Today, iOS 26.7 is that second option. It doesn’t contain any new features, but it does ensure your iPhone stays up to date with the latest security patches.
