GoKawiilApple has just kicked off a new wave of beta updates, and it’s not the one we were expecting. Beta 1 is here for watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, and more.
watchOS 27.2 and more get surprise developer beta 1 releases
After a full summer testing watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and more, Apple launched those updates to all users earlier this week. And now, the company has wasted little time getting started on a fresh wave of new beta releases.
But it’s not the 27.1 updates we were expecting. Instead, Apple is now rolling out developer beta 1 for watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2, visionOS 27.2, and more.
The company previously confirmed that iOS 27.1 will ship in October before the iPhone Duo launches. But now it seems the company may ship iOS 27.2 and companion updates not long after.
We were expecting iOS 27.1 to focus on software optimizations for iPhone Duo. Perhaps there aren’t any other substantial changes coming in that family of updates. Apple could always release watchOS 27.1 and companion updates with no changes beyond security fixes and compatibility with iPhone Duo.
