GoKawiilLunacy Audio launches Nova, a marketplace for AI-built music plug-ins
Lunacy Audio has released Nova, a platform where developers can create and sell music software instruments assembled from premade effects blocks and AI prompts rather than traditional code. The launch includes 10 initial plug-ins, ranging from lo-fi cassette-style synths to ambient drone generators, built by Lunacy and select partners. A companion host plugin lets users load and switch between Nova instruments inside their digital audio workstation, and instruments can also run in a browser without one.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
Nova lowers the technical bar for building music software, letting non-coders design and monetize plug-ins much like no-code app builders have done for other software categories. If the promised Nova Builder tool opens this to everyone, it could reshape how bedroom producers and small developers create and distribute instruments, challenging established VST makers.
- Lunacy Audio's Nova platform lets creators build music plug-ins using AI prompts and premade blocks instead of code.
- Ten instruments are available at launch, including lo-fi and ambient synths from Lunacy and partner developers.
- A future Nova Builder tool will let anyone design or remix their own plug-ins for sale.
