TL;DR Samsung has quietly changed the Galaxy S26 series’ One UI 9 rollout date in Thailand from September 21 to September 28.
The new date puts the Galaxy S26 series alongside the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7, which were already scheduled for September 28.
Samsung hasn’t explained the change or announced a wider delay, so it’s unclear whether the revised date applies beyond Thailand.
Samsung’s One UI 9 rollout may have hit a small speed bump, at least for Galaxy S26 owners outside Korea. Samsung started rolling out the stable One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S26 series in Korea a few days ago, which usually means owners elsewhere don’t have to wait too long.
The company even gave a fairly specific date to look forward to. Samsung’s Thailand Newsroom previously listed September 21 as the rollout date for the Galaxy S26 series, followed by September 28 for the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7. September 21 has now passed, though, and Samsung appears to have quietly changed its plans.
As first spotted by SamMobile, X user Tarun Vats noticed that Samsung had updated the dates listed on its Thailand Newsroom page. The Galaxy S26 series is now scheduled to receive One UI 9 on September 28, putting Samsung’s latest flagships on the same date as the Galaxy S25 series and Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The change is interesting because Samsung has already released stable One UI 9 in Korea. We’re used to seeing regional rollouts happen in stages; your friend in another country getting an update days before you is basically part of owning an Android phone, but this leaves a noticeably larger gap than we normally expect after a major One UI release gets underway.
That naturally raises the question of whether Samsung spotted something it wanted to fix before pushing One UI 9 to millions more phones. There’s no evidence of that yet, and the revised September 28 date could only apply to Thailand. Samsung hasn’t announced a wider delay or explained why the date changed.
