GoKawiilGoogle launches Fitbit Edge tracker between Pixel Watch 5 and Fitbit Air
Google has released the Fitbit Edge, its second Fitbit device of 2026, positioned as a successor to the Charge 6 with a Pixel Watch-like design. It features a 1.34-inch OLED touchscreen in an aluminum IP68-rated frame, a single side button, and up to seven days of battery life (two days with always-on display enabled). The device pairs with Android and iPhone via the Google Health app and costs roughly half the price of the Pixel Watch 5.

By slotting a mid-tier tracker between its budget Fitbit Air and premium Pixel Watch 5, Google appears to be building a tiered wearable lineup that could appeal to health-focused users unwilling to pay smartwatch prices. The design similarities across the three devices suggest Google is unifying its hardware aesthetic while differentiating by sensors, battery life, and button count rather than software features.
- Fitbit Edge replaces the aging Charge 6 with a larger OLED screen and Pixel Watch-inspired design.
- Battery life reaches seven days normally but drops to about two days with always-on display enabled.
- Priced at roughly half the Pixel Watch 5, the Edge targets a gap between Fitbit Air and Google's smartwatch.
Fitbit Charge 6 — Since the new Fitbit Edge is essentially a refined successor to the Charge 6, the Charge 6 remains a great, currently available pick for anyone wanting Fitbit's health tracking in a slim band. It offers built-in GPS, heart rate tracking, and Google apps integration similar to what's described for the Edge, making it a solid choice while the newer model rolls out.
