GoKawiilReddit adds algorithmic For You feed alongside existing Following option
Reddit has rolled out a new For You feed that blends posts from subreddits users already follow with algorithmically recommended content from communities it thinks they'll like. Users can still opt to stay on the existing Following feed, which only shows posts from subreddits they've joined.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The move mirrors recommendation-driven feeds popularized by platforms like TikTok and Instagram, suggesting Reddit may be seeking to boost engagement and surface content for users beyond their subscribed communities. By keeping Following as an alternative, Reddit appears to be trying to avoid alienating users who prefer a purely curated, chronological-style experience.
- Reddit introduced a new algorithmic For You feed that mixes followed and recommended content.
- The existing Following feed remains available for users who want only subscribed-community posts.
- The change reflects a broader industry trend toward recommendation-based content discovery.
