GoKawiilwatchOS 27.3 beta adds Siri Recap and Live Rewind audio features for Apple Watch
Apple's watchOS 27.3 beta brings two Audio Intelligence tools first shown alongside the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: Siri Recap, which generates titled summaries of conversations, and Live Rewind, which transcribes the last 15 seconds of audio on demand via a double-press of the Digital Crown. Both features rely on the watches' always-listening microphones and are limited to the two newest Apple Watch models.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
An always-on microphone raises obvious privacy questions, and Apple is addressing this by saying the S11 chip processes audio locally and deletes it immediately, with no access for apps, users or Apple itself, and no speaker identification. Whether users accept these assurances could shape how willingly they enable such features, and the opt-in design plus audible chimes and animations suggest Apple is trying to preempt criticism before a wider rollout.
- Siri Recap and Live Rewind are now testable in the watchOS 27.3 beta.
- Features are exclusive to Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4 hardware.
- Apple says audio is processed on-device by the S11 chip and deleted instantly, with opt-out controls available.
