GoKawiilViolinist Annabelle Traves named Dr. Bombay's first global ice cream taster
Snoop Dogg's ice cream brand Dr. Bombay has hired Australian concert violinist Annabelle Traves as its first International Ice Cream Taster, a three-month, $10,000-a-month role. She was chosen from more than 350,000 applicants across 130-plus countries in a search run by HR platform Deel, after submitting a violin rendition of a Snoop Dogg song in her application. Her duties include helping the brand expand into new markets, developing flavors, and creating a Deel-branded ice cream.
GoKawiil's interpretation of the reporting above, not reported fact.
The campaign shows how brands can use viral, oddball job postings to generate massive public engagement and media coverage far beyond the cost of the role itself. Deel's involvement suggests the HR platform saw value in running a high-visibility hiring stunt to showcase its recruitment reach, though that motive is not confirmed in the reporting. Traves' selection also hints that creative differentiation, rather than technical dairy expertise, can outweigh conventional qualifications in such competitions.
