Sonos is synonymous with premium audio gear, and soon, some of that gear will carry an even more premium price tag. Chris Welch reports for Bloomberg that Sonos plans to increase prices on at least some of its products. The reason is no surprise: tariffs. Sonos Inc. will raise prices on some products later this year, the company said Wednesday, a move that threatens to complicate its comeback attempt following a tumultuous 2024. The price increases are a response to the latest tariffs levied by the US on Vietnam and Malaysia, where Sonos devices are manufactured, the company said during its third-quarter earnings call. It wasn’t immediately clear which products will be affected. For Sonos, the company just doesn’t have the same leverage as Apple when it comes to skirting the government’s tariffs on products manufactured outside of the United States. No word on what products will see price increases or how much prices will go up. Still, it’s probably a good idea to purchase items on your Sonos wish list as soon as possible.
