28 Years Later Rises From the Grave With a New Trailer

Danny Boyle’s long-awaited 28 Years Later finally has a new trailer, four months after its record-breaking first. Have a look, below: So, a picturesque island retreat inhabited by the last-living pocket of humanity as they defend themselves against the endless ranks of an increasingly desperate zombie horde? While the original film essentially served as a European speedrun of George Romero’s first Living Dead trilogy (with some Night of the Triffids in there, for spice), its appears 28 Years Later is taking a few pages from Romero’s unpopular second wave of zombie films, which I’m honestly very here for. The entire conceit of a green island hideaway is tremendously evocative of Survival of the Dead‘s Plum Island, while the images of posh-looking victims (honestly, bangs? In the apocalypse?) having their faces pressed against glass doors seems to be a direct homage to Land of the Dead‘s assault on its own moat-protected safe haven, Fiddler’s Green.
