The iTunes Movies and TV Shows app predate the unified Apple TV app, and go all the way back to the first version of tvOS in 2015. Fast forward to today, and these apps are almost entirely redundant and serve as mere placeholders. As system apps on Apple TV are not deletable, these husks of times past have somewhat comically stuck around on the Apple TV home screen. With the latest beta of tvOS 26, users will finally have a way to bury these apps for good. Up to now, the only workaround to keep these nigh-useless apps out of sight was to make a folder at the bottom of your home screen and put them in there. With tvOS 26 beta 6 released earlier this week, users now have the ability to properly hide these apps altogether from the home screen. After updating to the latest version of tvOS, here’s how to do this: Open the Settings app. Scroll down and select Apps. Select iTunes Movies and TV Shows. Find the Home Screen section. Click once on each row to change from Show to Hide. The app icons will then disappear from the Apple TV Home Screen. With this interface, you can hide both iTunes Movies and iTunes TV Shows, or just one of them. Right now, they appear to still be visible by default. But you can imagine Apple rolling out a heuristic that automatically hides them for new users going forward, and maybe for existing users who don’t have any items in their Wishlist — which is basically the only function these apps now have. Another new app you’ll see upon upgrading to tvOS 26 is Apple Music Sing. This is essentially a shortcut to a dedicated karaoke section inside the Music app. If you don’t plan to use the karaoke features on Apple TV, you can also go into Settings -> Apps -> Music and hide Sing from the home screen as well.
