When you think about photo editing software, the first thing that comes to mind is Adobe. Adobe software is often considered the gold standard when it comes to creative applications, but it is not the only software developer that specializes in photo editing.

Whether you are looking for a solution to streamline your workflow, to batch edit a full set of wedding images, or you want something that can add a creative and artistic flair to your photography, there is a photo editing suite out there for you. Some of my top picks include Adobe Photoshop and Affinity Photo 2.

What is the best photo editor right now?

My favorite photo editing software -- unsurprisingly -- is Adobe Photoshop It has all of the photo editing tools you could ever need for advanced image editing and workflow management. Subscriptions start at $23 per month, or you can sign up for a Creative Cloud plan to bolt on additional creative apps.

If you would prefer a subscription-free photo editor, check out Affinity Photo 2. While it's not available on Android, Affinity Photo 2 is an excellent photo editor available for a one-off payment of only $70, or only $19 on iPad. Graphic and design packages are also available.
