GoKawiilIMAX 3D vs 2D: no automatic winner, says moviegoer review
A moviegoer comparing IMAX 2D and IMAX 3D screenings, including a recent viewing of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in IMAX 3D, found that 3D only improves the experience when a film's action makes real use of added depth. The reviewer noted the 3D image appeared darker and that wearing 3D glasses over prescription glasses added inconvenience. The piece also clarifies that IMAX and 3D are separate, independent formats that can be combined or chosen separately.
