Bambu Lab has started its Black Friday promotion from October 16 through December 1, offering discounts across its 3D printer lineup, filament and accessories. The flagship H2C printer combo is discounted by up to $300, with additional savings of around 26% on select filament packs.
Formlabs unveiled the Form Studio 1, a $699 resin 3D printer designed for safer at-home use, paired with new resins formulated to reduce harmful fumes. The printer uses a 28-LED backlight system with individual lenses instead of the typical LCD setup, and loads resin via a cartridge system that tracks remaining material and allows swapping mid-print. Formlabs says it can print at 130mm per hour with its proprietary resin.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has signed legislation requiring 3D printer makers to build in firearm-blocking technology once ASTM International finalizes an industry standard for such detection. The law only applies to printers sold after a standard exists, leaving current devices unaffected, and California becomes the second state after New York to pass such a rule, with Colorado and Washington considering similar bills. The California DOJ must check quarterly for a published standard from mid-2027 through mid-2029, after which it is no longer obligated to keep checking.
